James Harry Gutowski, Age 67 of Manistee died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 following a fight with cancer.

He was born on September 28, 1951 in Manistee the son of the late Leo & Germaine (Graczyk) Gutowski. He was a graduate of Manistee Catholic Central Class of 1969. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War.
James was employed as an operator at Hardy/AKZO Salt Company in Manistee. He later was employed as a dealer at the Little River Casino. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and spending time on the Big Manistee River. He was a member of the VFW Bear Creek Post #6333.
Survivors include two sons; Tony (Christa) Gutowski of Manistee and Joe (Erin) Gutowski of Ludington, four grandchildren; Kierra, Alaina, Keaten, & Ava, three siblings; Janet Gutowski of Manistee, Wayne Gutowski of Florida, and Margaret (Phil) Hecksel of South Haven, as well as by nieces, nephews, & numerous friends,
