Lowell “Punk” Bailey, 85, of Ludington passed away on 1-18-17 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon surrounded by his family. Lowell was born on 10-26-31 to Wesley and Viola Bailey. He graduated from Ludington High School in 1951. Lowell was married in Manistee at St. Joseph Church on September 1st, 1956 to Lucille Ozdych Bailey. He worked at Great Lakes Castings for 43 years, was a farmer and Rupp dealer. He retired in 1993. He was awarded the designation of Iron Master from the foundry. Lowell was also a member of Edwin H. Ewing Post 76, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and was in the army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, baseball, bowling, and his passion was watching the activities of his children and many grandchildren. Lowell truly enjoyed the retires’ breakfast with the guys and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by wife Lucille Ozdych Bailey, children Dan (Margaret) Bailey, Deb (Bob) Towns, Ed (Lynette) Bailey, Donna (Jeff) Wicklund, John (Rebecca) Bailey, grandchildren Melissa, Gabe (Emily), Chris, Nicole, Blake (Kristen), Travis (Kashley), Kaity, Allie, Isaac, Gianna, Julius, Lucy, Felix, Miles, Max, great-grandchildren Abiona, Faith, Lucas, Isabella, brothers Roger (Kathy) Bailey, Joe (Phyllis) Meisenheimer, sister June (Joe) Michels, sister-in-law Margaret Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim and Ray Bailey, and grandson Jeremy Bailey.
Visitation will be at Oak Grove Funeral Home, 3060 W. US Highway 10, Monday 1-23-17 from 4-8. Service is Tuesday 1-24-17 at St. Simon’s Church at 11 with Father Wheeler, visitation available one hour prior. Final Disposition at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
