Obituary for Isabelle Elaine Steffens (Carlson)

Isabelle E. Steffens, Age 82 of Onekama passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Hansen Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan .
She was the last child born to Oscar E. & Isabelle E. (Maue) Carlson on November 10, 1935 in Onekama, Michigan. Isabelle graduated in 1954 from Onekama High School. She married Paul E. Steffens on April 27, 1974 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1996.
Isabelle worked at the Glen of Michigan in Manistee for 27 years, and then went to work for Sawyer’s canning factory in Bear Lake for another 6 years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Onekama where she was an active member of the Ladies Aid and Board of Christian Education. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary where she for years assisted with the Gold Star Mothers dinner. She enjoyed watching Detroit Tiger Baseball, going to the casino, and her pets.
Survivors include her daughter; Paula (Mark) Vide, her brother Oscar (Pat) Carlson, sister-in-law; JoAnn Carlson, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband; she was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services for Isabelle Steffens will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama with Pastor Tim Selim officiating. Burial will be in the Onekama Village Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service.
