Ronald Leo  Reinking
Ronald “Ron” Leo Reinking, 79, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Spectrum Health/Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ron was born in Fort Wayne, IN on November 23, 1937, the son of the late Lester and Vera (Rice) Reinking. On September 21, 1963 he married Deborah Smith and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School, class of 1955 and Indiana University, Bloomington, with a degree in finance/accounting in 1959. He was a Certified Public Accountant. He also served as a first lieutenant in the Army Reserve.

Ron worked for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell in Chicago, IL, then moved back to Fort Wayne as Controller for Indiana Bank & Trust accounting instructor at IU-PU FW, and then established Financial Dynamics Corporation, an accounting firm for small businesses until his retirement in 2010.

Ron had the ability to connect with others and treasured his friends and family immensely. He was known for his love of people from all walks of life, his humor, magic, athletic and creative abilities, and for talking politics and finance. He loved leading everything from the Class of ’55 gatherings to his family’s Christmas sing-alongs.

He served on the Board of Directors for Concordia Lutheran High School, Concordia Theological Seminary, and the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. He was a member and president of Anthony Wayne Rotary Club, Fort Wayne, held many positions at Trinity Lutheran Church and was the ninth recipient of Concordia Lutheran High School’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1996. Since his retirement, he served as a Big Brother, wrote for Indiana Policy Review, and was working to establish an online school group in Michigan. He and his wife Debbie spent their last three years at their cottage in Onekama, MI and Manistee, MI in the winter months.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Smith) Reinking, his daughter Pamela (Larry) Core of Mooresville, NC, his son, Douglas (Lauren) Reinking of Chicago, IL, grandchildren Riley and Alyssa Core, and Caroline Reinking; his sisters Judith (Bill) West; and Linda Schneider; brother John (Kathleen) Reinking, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, Feb 19 at 4:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1636 Saint Mary’s Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, 46808. Prior to the service, beginning at 2:30 pm, friends and family are invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity.
