Obituary for George Lewis Sulak

George Lewis Sulak, age 88 of Ludington passed away on Sunday July 17, 2016 at Tendercare of Ludington.
He was born on February 19, 1928 in Spring Canyon, UT, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Fajjoni) Sulak. He attended Ludington High School and graduated with the class of 1946. George enlisted in the United States Army on March 4, 1947 and served until his honorable discharge on September 3, 1948.
George married Bertha Mae Fleetwood on September 16, 1950 in Ludington at St. Simon Catholic Church by Father R. B. Drinan. George worked as a cost estimator for 52 years at Metalworks in Ludington, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church and the Ludington Eagles (FOE). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, hunting, golfing and fishing.
George is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae Sulak of Ludington; daughters, June (Donald) Sheidler of Lake City, Sheila Sulak of Ludington and Mary Sulak of Ludington; son, George “Mike” (Koleen) Sulak of Scottville; sister, Norma Hull of Manistee; brothers, David Sulak of Ludington and Edward Sulak of Riverside, CA; 10 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Edith Marie Sulak; sisters, Reva Marks, Eleanore Commandella, Lucy Swider, and Amelia Forbers; brothers, Joe, Henry, Jim and Robert Sulak.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service with military honors by the American Legion Post 76 will be held at 1:30PM on Thursday July 21, 2016 at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:30PM until time of service. Final interment will take place at Pere Marquette Catholic Cemetery in Ludington at a later date.
