Mary Esther (Essie) Edmondson, age 81 of Manistee died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her home.
She was born on November 16, 1933 in Manistee, Michigan the daughter of the late Omer & Rachael (Kline) Boulanger. She was a 1952 graduate of Manistee High School. She married Lynn Edmondson in 1997 in Manistee.
Mary Esther had been employed as a bus driver for 20 years by Dial-A-Ride in Manistee as well as being a waitress and bar tender at numerous restaurants and bars in Manistee, working at Morton Salt Company and The Colonial Flower Shop. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manistee & the Spirit of the Woods Garden Club. She enjoyed china painting and was a member and past president and secretary of the Manistee Area Porcelain Artists and taught china painting for about 20 years.
She enjoyed camping, canoeing, biking and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Edmondson of Manistee; two daughters, Judy Lee (Rick) Dean of Cadillac and Bonnie Rae (Milford) Sage of Kaleva; by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; son-in-law, Roger Wade of Gladwin; and one brother, Don (Jean) Boulanger of Crystal Falls, MI, step-children; Lynn Edmondson, Sheila Cobb, and Shari (Kevin) Haddrill all of Manistee. Step-grandchildren also survive.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Lynne Wade, and a sister, Alice Towles.
Memorial Services for Mary Esther Edmondson will be held Monday, August 31, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Reverend John Scott officiating. Final interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
