Obituary for Mark K. Luzier

MMark K. Luzier, 70, loving husband, father, and grandfather - of Wellston, passed away early on April 1, 2023 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Mark was a man of many names including “Mohawk Mark,” “One-Eye,” “Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch,” and “Sparky” due to being struck by lightning... twice.

Mark was born on October 31, 1952 to Guy Luzier and Mary Luzier (Babcock) in Coldwater, MI. At the age of 17, Mark went on to join the US Navy, where he worked as a Hull Maintenance Technician doing underwater welding for several years during the Vietnam War. He worked on a salvage ship called the USS Cohoes before switching between several other military branches. His medals include a navy unit and meritorious commendations, a national defense service medal, a Vietnam service medal with 2 Bronze stars, and a Navy expert pistol medal.

He was honorably discharged in 1972 and went on to work several trades including carpentry, welding, automotive maintenance, and maintenance supervision. He worked automotive maintenance on the set of the 1985 movie D.A.R.Y.L. He was an owner of his own business (MKL Home Owner Repairs and Patio Decks) and a commissioned artist. His favorite job was working as a heavy metal/steel fabricator.

In 1991, Mark met Donna Luzier (Krupica) at Cimarron Lounge in Brownstown, MI. They married in 1993 and went on to have 4 children, Cheyenne, Shadow, Kiowa, and Talon. In addition to 3 children, he had from previous relationships, Isis, Naomi, and Heather.

In 2003, Mark became disabled and retired. He spent his time playing number fill-ins, fishing, working in his garage, building just about anything, and resting his eyes.

Mark was predeceased by his father Guy and mother Mary, his brother Guy Robert “Bob”, his sister Mary Margaret “Peggy” Luzier and his daughter Shawnee Luzier.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna Luzier of Wellston, his daughter Isis Charette (husband Dan) of Fitchburg, MA, his daughter Naomi Luzier of Windsor, ON, his daughter Heather Campbell of Round Lake, IL, his daughter Cheyenne Menard (husband Dennis) of Sault Ste. Marie, his daughter Shadow Luzier of Irons, his daughter Kiowa Ray (husband Kyle) of Manistee, his son Talon Luzier of Big Rapids, his grandson Zachary Luzier of Fitchburg, MA his granddaughter Ari Mayou of Leominster, MA, his grandson Andrew Bray (fiance Amberley) of Tyngsborough, MA, his grandson Killian Luzier of Windsor, ON, his grandchild Rowan Luzier-Barker of Windsor, ON, his granddaughter Siersha Luzier-Barker of Windsor, ON, his granddaughter Kylyn Ray of Manistee, his great-grandson Austin Stone of Fitchburg, MA, his sister Sherry Clark of Manistee, and his brother Craig Luzier of Trenton.
