Obituary for Beverly Jean Justice (Long)
Beverly Jean (Long) Justice, age 86 of Manistee, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 2, 2023, at Maple Ridge Manor in Manistee.
Bev was born on April 22, 1936, in Great Falls, Montana, the daughter of Carl and Ethel (Rafferty) Long. She attended schools in Great Falls, graduating from GFHS in 1954. She married Jerry Justice on April 28, 1955, and they later divorced.
She worked for the Great Falls School District for 33 years before retiring in 2001.
Bev enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning as well as decorating, ceramics, crocheting, and designing floral arrangements.
She played softball in her younger years and was on both pool and bowling leagues.
Bev moved to Michigan in 2011 to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Steve (Sue) Justice of Parker, Colorado, and Tamie (Jim) Thompson of Manistee, Michigan; her grandchildren Jeremy (Hollie) Justice of Aurora, Colorado, Mackenzie Thompson of Olney, Illinois, and Seth Thompson of Manistee, Michigan; and her beloved dog Roxie.
Bev was preceded in death by her father in 1985, her sister Joanne Smith in 1976 and her mother in 1997.
Cremation has taken place and per Bev’s request, there will be no services held at this time.
Memorial donations may be made to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter in Bev’s memory.
