Obituary for Maureen Lynn Jankwietz
Maureen Lynn Jankwietz, age 77 of East Lake, died Wednesday morning February 8, 2023, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
She was born on May 21, 1945, in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of the late Edward M. O’Brien and Elnora (Brigham) O’Brien-Kerin. She was a graduate of Manistee High School Class of 1963. On August 14, 1965, she married Dennis Jankwietz at Saint Mary’s of Mount Carmel Shrine.
Maureen enjoyed painting in her spare time.
Survivors include three children; Brenda (Thor) Fowler of East Lake, Ronda (Richard) Koon and Jesse Jankwietz both of Manistee, six grandchildren; Casey & Andrew, Dakota & Gracie, Anna & Brooke, four great grandchildren; Lillian, Colt, Caidence, & Camden, her siblings; Murray O’Brien, Margaret (Candelario) Sanchez, & Molly O’Brien all of Manistee, sister-in-law; Donna Jankwietz also of Manistee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by siblings; Edward “Mike” O’Brien and Margie O’Brien, in-laws; Roger “Pete” Jankwietz and Donald & Jean Jankwietz, and her stepfather; Thomas Kerin.
Memorial Services for Maureen will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee with Father Zeljko Guberovic officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until time of service.
