Obituary for Julia Ann Rickel (Gasper)
Julia Ann Rickel, age 82 of Cadillac, Michigan, passed away on October 30, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Julia was born on May 20, 1940, in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Steve and Irene (Ruff) Gasper. She attended Wayne High in Wayne, Michigan. Julia married Wayne E. Rickel on March 30, 1957, in Inkster, MI and they shared 57 years together before Wayne’s passing in July of 2014.
She was a member of the Cadillac Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Julia enjoyed sewing and cross stitch. She also liked working on puzzles and playing cards and dominos with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Amy) Rickel, Blane (Kim) Rickel, and Erik (Kim) Rickel; grandchildren Damon, Ben, Stephanie, Brett, Jared, and Chloe’; great-grandchildren Isabel, Sadie, Logan, Elayna, Sofia, Levi, Easton, and Valencia; siblings Beverly, Stevie, Mike, and Greg; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Gasper.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 26, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Cadillac Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cadillac, MI with Steve Green officiating.
