Obituary for Lane Oakley Anderson

Lane Oakley Anderson, age 77, of East Lake, died at his home Monday evening September 5, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 23, 1945 in Manistee, MI the son of the late Louis O. & Lillian E. (Schultz) Anderson. He was a graduate of Onekama High School Class of 1963. Lane was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the United States Army from November of 1965 to November of 1967. He married Shirley M. Kamaloski on January 29, 1966 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama.

Lane was employed at Ex-Cello in Manistee for 17 prior to 21 years of employment at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.

He had been a member of the American Legion Post #10 and VFW Walsh Post # 4499 in Manistee. Lane loved to hit the little white ball at the Heathland’s in Onekama before their closure. He also enjoyed spending time with family, followed NASCAR, the Detroit Tiger, & Michigan State Football, and was soon to be a U of M fan following his grandson’s enrollment at the University of Michigan.

Lane is survived by his wife; Shirley M. Anderson, three children; David Anderson, Kristie (Larry) Weaver, and Cammie Anderson, five grandchildren; Shelby (Colin) Davey, Austin Ellison, Anthony Miller, and Joshua & Nick Weaver, great grandchildren; Holden, Hendrick, & Harrison Davey & sisters-in-law; Betty Anderson, and Patricia & Betty Kamaloski.

He was also preceded in death by his twin brother; Louis Anderson and brothers-in-law; Richard, Ronald, & Theodore Kamaloski, and sisters-in-law; Arlene & Gloria Brown.

Funeral Services for Lane O. Anderson will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Pastor Alto Goodspeed,Jr. officiating. Military Honors will follow. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service.
