Obituary for Ida May Thomas
Ida May Thomas, age 80 of Bear Lake, Michigan died Wednesday morning July 20, 2022, at Ohana AFC in Manton.
She was born on June 12, 1942, in Bear Lake, Michigan the daughter of the late Edward H. & Faye E. (Truss) Lingg. She attended Bear Lake High School. On September 29, 1973, she married Ronald C. Thomas at the Bear Lake United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1996.
Ida May was employed as an Executive Secretary at Blarney Castle Oil Company from April of 1973 until her retirement in 2005.
She was an active member of the Bear Lake United Methodist Church, serving as church organist, choir director, Sunday school teacher, as well as assisting with office duties. Her greatest love was her grand kids and her music. She also loved flower gardens and birds.
Survivors include her son; Richard Thomas, his sons; Anthony & Robert Thomas, & granddaughter; Kaylee Thomas, her daughter; Jennifer Thomas and her children; Devon, Xander, & Brennan Selders, two brothers; John & Hugh Lingg.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Allen Thomas.
Memorial Services for Ida May Thomas will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Bear Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Vanderlaan officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will be at the church Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service to receive friends.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Bear Lake United Methodist Church or the National MS Society.
