Obituary for Margaret Kay "Markay" Lloyd
Margaret Kay “Markay” Lloyd, age 80, of Manistee, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2022, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
She was born on July 23, 1941, in North Carolina. She married Thomas T. Lloyd at First Baptist Church in Manistee. Tom passed away on November 24, 2019.
Markay was a cashier at Kroger’s / Oleson’s Grocery and a manager at House of Flavors Restaurant. She had over 40 years of employment here in Manistee.
In her free time, Markay enjoyed gardening, canning, and snowmobiling. She loved spending time outdoors, feeding the birds and raising chickens for their eggs.
She is survived by her stepchildren Terri Lloyd of Manistee, MI, Ted (Patty) Lloyd of Williamsburg, MI, Tim (Keri) Lloyd of Wayland, MI, and Todd (Cindy) Lloyd of Grand Rapids, MI; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Shelda Lloyd of Manistee; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband Tom, Markay was preceded in death by her parents, her stepson Thomas, and her brothers and sisters-in-law Jim and Corrine Lloyd and Dennis and Edith Lloyd.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
