Obituary for LaVerne Francis Schwandt Jr.
LaVerne Francis Schwandt Jr., born January 9, 1966, passed away on July 5, 2022, in Manistee at the age of 56.
Vern was a well-known resident of Manistee, he made friends with all those that he met on his walks through town and to the beach. His sweet smile and gentle ways were hard not to like. Vern loved writing songs, making yard ornaments, dogs, sports, visits from his cousins and Aunt Betty and Uncle Ray, and trips, especially to Onekama. He enjoyed visiting Ford Lake with his CS Trainer and friend, Julie Popp to see the turtles. We are comforted knowing that Vern is happy in heaven, reunited with his family.
Vern is survived by his niece Amber Schwandt, and nephew Trevor (Angela) Schwandt, great niece and nephew Harper and Hunter, Uncle Raymond and Aunt Betty DeLore, and a host of cousins whose lives Vern deeply touched.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents LaVerne Sr., and Diane (DeLore) Schwandt, his brothers Scott, and Charlie, his sister Suzy, his Uncle Frank and Aunt Sandy Schwandt.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Irons, with Father Matt Barnum officiating. Final Interment will take place at Fernwood Cemetery in Dublin.
