Obituary for Thad Garrett Cockerill
Thad Garrett Cockerill, age 51, of Bear Lake, passed away on April 10, 2022, at his home with his wife by his side.
Thad was born on September 8, 1970, in Flint, MI, the son of Harold and Mary (Schafnitz) Cockerill. He attended Mesick High School. On August 9, 2019, Thad married Karen Vogel at the Manistee County Courthouse.
He was a kitchen supervisor at the Crystal Mountain Resort for 10 years.
In his free time, Thad enjoyed spending his time outdoors kayaking and playing golf. He also liked to work on projects since he was quite the handyman.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Karen Cockerill; daughter Paeslee Cockerill; siblings Tara (Keith) Daniels, Shawn Daniels, and Garth (Ivy) Daniels; mother Mary Cockerill; bonus children Miranda, Marcus, Matthew and Christian; nieces Amanda, Brittany, and Megan; and nephews Thayne, Ryan, Jacob, and Bryan.
A Celebration of Life for Thad will be held on Sunday May 1, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Crystal Center at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, MI.
