Obituary for Roger R. Vriesman
Roger R. Vriesman, age 63, of Bear Lake, passed away on Thursday December 23, 2021, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Roger was born on November 9, 1958, in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of James and Jeanette (Wolf) Vriesman. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1980 and went on to attended Muskegon Community College. Roger married Peggy Flater on June 25, 1994, in Holton, Michigan and they shared 27 wonderful years together filled with love and laughter.
He was a slot technician at Little River Casino Resort for 8 years before becoming a lead slot technician. A position that he held for eight years.
Roger was a jack of all trades; a very knowledgeable man who could help you fix your vehicle from thousands of miles away over the phone. He enjoyed spending his time fly fishing, going to yard sales, and collecting guitars, even though he didn’t play them. He loved to be with Peggy and their dogs, but he especially loved to be with his grandson. Roger was a man who loved life and was always happy.
He will be missed dearly by his wife, Peggy; his children Joseph Vriesman, Tina Colon, Daniel Colon, Blossom Berry, James Flater, and Justin Brown; his mother, Jeanette; his grandchildren Dominic, Cheyenne, Alexander, Isabella, Gabriel, Zackery, and Malakai; his siblings Nancy (Jarret) Yasuoka, James Vriesman, Michael (Debbie) Vriesman, and Randy Vriesman; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, James; his grandson Joseph Berry; his brothers Ted and David Vriesman; and his sister-in-law Cindy Vriesman.
A celebration of life for Roger will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Manistee.
