Obituary for Annette C. Peterson

Annette Cene Peterson, age 83, of Manistee, Michigan, passed away on Saturday December 18, 2021, at her home with her daughter and sister by her side with the sun shining through and birds outside her window.
Annette was born on February 21, 1938, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of the late Norman and Marian (Kaminsky) Sadler. She attended Onekama High School and was part of the graduating class of 1956.
On June 28, 1958, Annette married Jon Alan Peterson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Onekama and they shared 51 wonderful years together before Jon’s passing on December 8, 2009.
Annette was a telephone operator at Michigan Bell and was also a seamstress at Glen of Michigan.
She was a member of Guardian Angels Church in Manistee, where she was a member of the choir, and St. Joseph’s Church - Divine Mercy Parish.
Annette enjoyed many things throughout her lifetime. She loved tending to her farm animals when she was younger, sewing, needlepoint, cooking, traveling, bird watching, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed collecting stamps, trying new recipes (OR cooking beloved family recipes), and taking pictures.
Annette will be dearly missed by her daughter Mary (Randall Gunderson) Soper of Frankfort, MI; son John Peterson of Fife, WA; siblings Susan Sadler Maleski of Grand Rapids, MI, Norman (Cathy) Sadler of Elma, WA, and Larry (Lois) Sadler of Manistee, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including special nieces Amanda (Mark) Eggert and Ashley (Curt) Klunder.
A special thank you to her loving caregivers Alynn, Beryl, Jenny, Carolyn, Sharon, Jill, and Andrea for taking such wonderful care of Annette. Another special thank you to Annette’s neighbors Fred and Duwayne for always being there for us, and to Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care.
Annette was also preceded in death by two nephews, Lawrence Sadler Jr. and Adam Sadler and her beloved dog Monty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Annette on Saturday April 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angels Organ and Carillon Fund, Homeward Bound, Paul Oliver Living and Rehab, or to Munson Hospice.
