Obituary for June Vandenbosch

June Vandenbosch, age 97, of Bear Lake Michigan, passed away Thursday morning October 21, 2021, peacefully at her home.
She was born on June 20, 1924, in Dearborn Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Hoffman) Hart.
She graduated from Fordson High School in 1941 and was a feisty, social, self-confident go getter. June had loved to help her grandmother around her farm and loved to try and help her brother and sister. She enjoyed working and being useful.
June was a Jill of many trades and had a variety of careers. In her younger days she was a coat check girl and eventually moved up to hostess in the nightclubs when the big bands were swinging. She was a “Bucker” or a “Rosie the Riveter” when the war called for help building planes. June worked for Michigan Bell telephone company connecting calls and credited them with developing her lovely phone voice. Eventually she got her dental assisting license and worked both in Michigan and California for decades. Her true calling came later when she found her love for travel. She started out as a bookkeeper for a Travel Agency and worked her way in to be a top Travel Agent. She loved all the perks of travel and cruising around the world.
June loved her fun Oakland California days. She water skied, played golf, loved playing Bridge and card games. She enjoyed socializing and all the family connections and friends she made over the years. Most of all she loved meeting her husband, the late Robert Vandenbosch, to whom she was married to for 55 years. They had one child Lisa Marie who was their darling daughter. They retired near her sister on the north shore of Bear Lake, Michigan. Bear Lake was a wonderful fit for their later years and she and her husband loved the people, neighbors, and the community.
June had a wonderful gift of conversation and social grace but was more importantly a great listener. So many people would always say how much they loved just talking with her. Robert always called her his tiger and she really was a strong person all around. She amazed herself throughout her nineties and always said how unbelievably well she was doing. She was a toughie who lasted to the age of 97 and it’s the toughies who make it there.
June is survived by her daughter Lisa Vandenbosch and sister-in-law Jean Hart.
Besides for her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband Robert Vandenbosch, her sister Monica Papinau, brother Joseph Hart, and brother-in-law Bill Papinau.
A celebration of life for both June and Robert will be held at a later date, with the final internment at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
