Obituary for Ruth Santina "Tina" Hassinger
Ruth Santina Hassinger, known to her loved ones as Tina, died at the age of 87 on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home in Manistee.
Tina came as a late Christmas gift, born on December 28, 1933 in Muskegon. Tina was the daughter of the late Sidney & Mary (Simonelli) Zaagman. Tina grew up in Muskegon where she met and married her husband of 68 years, Bill Hassinger. Tina was an amazing wife and mother to her three children. For years she volunteered her time teaching, organizing events, hosting gatherings and much more. Not only was Tina dedicated to her family, but she was also dedicated to her second family through her husband – The Michigan State Police. She has always been an active member in her community and church. Since residing in Manistee in 1993, she has been a member of the Manistee United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Tina really enjoyed to travel with her husband, visiting every state except Colorado.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill Hassinger of Manistee, daughter; Mari Dawn Gladish of Manistee, grandchildren; Dylan & Rick Hassinger, Jessica (Jeremy) DeRosia of Manistee, and Franklin & Martha Loomis, great grandson; Michael DeRosia, & Brother; Jack (Gayle) Zaagman of Muskegon as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sons; Greg & Richard Hassinger of Kalamazoo, and by brothers; Lambert & Sam Zaagman,
