Obituary for Mary Jane McLaughlin (Mrozek)
Mary Jane McLaughlin, Age 86 of Bear Lake died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at her with family.
She was born on June 20, 1934 in Porter Township, Cass County, Michigan the daughter of the late Edward R. & Dorothy Pearl (Rumshas) Mrozek. She attended school in Cass County, graduating in 1951. She was married to Thomas McLaughlin, II
She worked at numerous different jobs, with the most recent being a CAN at The Maples in Frankfort from which she retired from.
She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Onekama. Mary Jane also volunteered as a Big Sister and as companion for the elderly, and worked at the Senior Center in Manistee. She loved working the farm and gardens. She also enjoyed baking and entered many bake goods at the Manistee County Fair, winning lots of ribbons. She participated in a pool league with Rosie’s Place. Mary Jane loved her horses and sometimes rode them in local parades.
She is survived by her children; Cathy Triece of Ludington, Loretta McLaughlin of Connecticut, Teresa (Terry) Archey of Bear Lake, Thomas McLaughlin, III also of Bear Lake, Anna (Dion) Christie of Oregon, & Timothy McLaughlin of Arcadia, 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, brother; Paul (Barb) Mrozek of Vandalia, MI, sisters; Dorothy Lingham of Illinois and Kaye Diehl of Cassopolis, MI, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother; Eddie Mrozek and a granddaughter; Diane Christie.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date
