Obituary for Barbara Ann Harter (Piotrowski)
Barbara Ann Harter, age 93 of Manistee entered into Eternity Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence in Muskegon Michigan.
She was born on November 10, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late John E. and Pauline
(Bernatowicz) Piotrowski. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Detroit and was
Employed as a librarian by Saint Mary’s College and Rochester Adams High School. She married Donald R. Harter on February 9, 1952 at the Jesu Church in Detroit.
Barbara was a communicant of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee where she was an active
Member of the funeral luncheon committee for 20 years. She loved playing golf and was a member of the Manistee Golf and Country Club. She also enjoyed reading, ceramics, cut glass design and playing cards and games with family and friends.
She is survived by four children, Donald R. Harter, Jr. of Gainesville, FL, Mary Kathryn Harter of Manistee, MI, Richard J. (Linda) Harter of Leonard, MI. Jacqueline Marie (Michael) Harloff of Lillian, AL; and a Granddaughter; Danielle Keen.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years; Donald R. Harter, a grandson; Michael Keen and Siblings; John E. Piotrowski, Mary Ann Ganss, Marguerite Carlson, and Eugene Peters.
Mass of Christian Burial wascelebrated Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. The family received friends at the church from 1:00 PM until time of Mass.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
