Obituary for Diana Kay Goodspeed (Wallace)

Diana Kay Goodspeed, age 77 of Manistee died Monday evening January 4, 2021 at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital.

She was born on October 26, 1943 in West Dearborn, Michigan the daughter of the late Robert & Vera Jean (Fisher) Wallace. She was a graduate of Godwin Heights High School in Grand Rapids. On December 21, 1963 she married Alto L. Goodspeed, Sr. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wayland. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2019.

She had been employed as a clerk by Bob Gerren Ford and Ben Franklin as well as serving as secretary/treasurer of New Life Tabernacle all in Manistee.

Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to sew and crafting as well as attending garage sales.

Survivors include four children; Sheila (Mark) Lavender of Manistee, Alto (Tracey) Goodspeed, Jr of Manistee, Craig (Heather) Goodspeed of Fremont, MI, and Chip (Kirsten) Goodspeed of Manistee, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters; Mary VanderMolen of Reed City and Marie Alward of New Door, one brother; Theodore (Marie) Wallace of Comstock Park, as well as nieces and nephews

She was also preceded in death by a sister; Jeanie Smoes and a brother; Robert Wallace.

The family will receive friends at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Private family services will follow.

Memorials in Diana’s name may be directed to the New Life Tabernacle Remodeling Fund.
