Obituary

Lynn Edward Edmondson, Sr. age 83, of Manistee and formerly of Pierport, passed away on Thursday December 10, 2020 at home with his daughter by his side.
He was born on February 19, 1937 in Manistee, son of the late Erford D. and Evelyn Grace (Patterson) Edmondson. He attended Parkdale School, Guardian Angels School, and then Manistee High School, where he graduated with the class of 1956.
Lynn continued his education at Hackley Manual Training in Muskegon, graduating in 1960 as a journeyman Iron Worker thru Local #340 out of Battle Creek.
He was a State certified bridge structural and ornamental Ironworker and #1 state certified welder and #1 international representative for building the cement plant in Charlevoix. Lynn also helped to build the Pump Storage Plant in Ludington and many other projects over the years. He retired at 50 years of age, with 30 years as an Ironworker.
On September 8, 1956 he married Sharon Bradford of Arcadia. They built their home and raised their family in Pierport, until Sharon’s passing on March 23, 1994. Lynn and Sharon had 3 children, Lynn, Jr., Sheila and Shari.
In July of 1994 he met his second wife, Mary Esther (Bolinger) Cabot-Robertson. On July 19, 1997 they married at the Edmondson cabin on the Little Manistee River in Udell Hills.
Lynn and Essie spent time traveling the U.S. seeing family and friends. They shared a lot in common and enjoyed life to the fullest! Camping, gardening, playing cards, cribbage and going to the Senior Center. Essie preceded him in death on August 25, 2015.
He spent a lot of time with his sister Mary, who was fighting cancer. They were very close sibling thru the years.
Lynn served in the Michigan Army National Guard, serving in Grayling from 1954 to 1960, and in the reserves until 1962.

He also served on the Onekama School Board from 1976 to 1980, Centre Wellness Board for Manistee/Benzie Counties, past member of the Eagles Club, past member of the Elks Lodge and a member of the American Legion Post 10, where Betty would make his “Special” Manhattan’s!
Bowled on the men’s and mixed leagues and bowled in the Peterson Classics. He also played slow pitch softball for many years, for different teams in the county. He enjoyed going to the 4H shows at the Onekama Fair grounds, buying the livestock that his 2 granddaughters showed (cattle and sheep).
He hosted many home new years eve parties. With hot and heavy pinochle card games! As an avid hunter, he also got a buck every year. 4 seasons of fishing and spring and fall mushroom hunting.
