Obituary for Allen "Pete" Russell
Allen “Pete” Russell, Age 86 of Manistee died Friday, September 4, 2020 at his home.
He was born on June 9, 1934 in Attica, Michigan the son of the late Douglas M. & Maxine I. (Dickersen) Russell. He was a graduate of Imlay City High School. Pete was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1955 to 1963.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator working out of Operating Engineers Local 324. He also incorporated his hobby of wood working into a business Pete’s Wood Shed in Manistee.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He also enjoyed playing cards (Skip Boo), maintaining campgrounds, and loving his dog Max.
He is survived by two sisters; Sandra McLellan and Patty Fuller, and nieces and nephews; Dave & Penny, Michael, Kevin, Kim & Tammy McLellan, Melissa & Randy Roberts, Robin & Mike Glant, Doug Fuller, Sandy & Shawn Dulley, and Sherry & Michael Maresh.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at River of Life Ministries in Manistee. Military Honors by the Manistee United Veterans Council Honor Guard will follow. Interment will be in the Attica Cemetery at a later date.
