Obituary for Leonard Lee Burton

Leonard Lee Burton, Age 68, passed away Monday, January 6, in his home in Irons, Michigan. Born January 27, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Leonard and Lillian (Kilpatrick) Burton. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Karell) Burton, husband of 13 years.

After graduating from Wyandotte's Roosevelt High School in 1969, he went to work for Chrysler at the Trenton Engine Plant. He spent 33 years at the plant, holding many different jobs, including Union Steward. He was able to retire from Chrysler in 2002.

Leonard was an avid hunter and loved being out in the woods. He also loved fishing, traveling and boating. He was a man of many trades and was always someone you could count on to help you build or fix anything. He touched the hearts of everyone he knew.

For most of his retired life, he spent the colder half of the year in Crystal River, Florida, returning to Irons for the warmer Michigan months.

Leonard loved spending time with his family, and is survived by his wife, Angela; daughter, Amy Burton-Massey and husband Alan; son, Kevin Burton; grandchildren, Mikaiyla, Mackensie, and Aiden; brother, George Burton; and many other extended family members.

There will not be a funeral at this time, but a Celebration of Life will be scheduled to be held sometime this summer.
