Obituary for Robert John Stanley

Robert John Stanley (Bob) – Manistee, MI (formerly of Lansing)
Age 86, passed away October 20, 2019 in Cadillac, MI. Bob was the youngest son of Homer and Ethel Thelma (Wyllys) Stanley. He was employed by the State of Michigan (M.E.S.C) in both Lansing and Manistee. Bob enjoyed music, especially John Philip Sousa marches, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and MSU’s fight song. He developed his passion for music in his years of playing trombone for both Walter French Junior High and Eastern High School. He attended Michigan State University and was a true Spartan all of his life. Bob loved sports, nature, reading and animals, especially his cat Frisky and his best buddy, his dog Bungy. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Thelma Stanley, brothers Richard and Roland Stanley and son-in-law Brant Holliday. He is survived by his son Robert (Gina) Stanley, Jr., his daughters Debbie (Ron Smith) Stanley-Smith and Lori (Denny Nayback) Holliday; grandchildren James (Melanie Weytkow) Stanley, Nicole (Ryan) Mitchell and Lucas Holliday; great grandchildren Vera and Violet Stanley and Louis and Rilyn Mitchell and several nieces and nephews. No services will be held.
