Obituary for Gerald Edwin Davis

Gerald Edwin Davis, Age 90 of Manistee died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 7, 1928 in Manistee, Michigan the son of the late Harold M. & Hazel Evelyn (Reno) Davis. He was a graduate of Manistee High School in 1946 and attended Central Michigan University. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He married Arlene Mae Steinberg on September 29, 1951 at the Rectory of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee.
He was employed by Packaging Corporation of America as a powerhouse foreman. A licensed pilot, he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and flew air ambulance for Wings of Mercy. He also was a musician, playing with his wife Arlene in “Arlene’s Trio”. He enjoyed scuba diving, sailing, and was also an artist. Most of all he enjoyed his time with family.
Survivors include his wife; Arlene M. Davis of Manistee, four children; Wayne Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tammy (Mike) Anderson of Manistee, MI, Kathy (John) Field of Beaumont, Texas, and Bonnie Davis of Manton, MI, 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother; Harold J. Davis in the Korean Conflict.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.
