Obituary for Eugenia Mae "Jean" Waligorski
Eugenia (Jean) Mae Waligorski, age 91 passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019 at the home of her son & daughter-in-law of Kaleva following a brief illness.
She was born on July 29, 1927 in Onekama, Michigan the daughter of the late Eugene & Hazel (Collins) Koegler. She attended Onekama Consolidated Schools and graduated with the Class of 1945. She was class president.
Jean had owned and operated Modern Cleaners of Manistee, as well as having been employed in the Catalog Department at the Montgomery Ward Store and as an office secretary at A.D. Joslin.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law; Bruce & Vicki Waligorski of Kaleva, two grandsons; Mason Waligorski (Jessica Scharp) of Manistee and Garrett Waligorski of Big Rapids, one granddaughter; Kelli (Joseph) Norton of Grand Rapids, one great granddaughter; Kendal Waligorski of Manistee, one great grandson; Kian Norton of Grand Rapids, one sister; Geraldine Weir of Omaha, Nebraska, one niece; Jacki Weir also of Omaha, and two nephews; Scott (Lucy) Weir of Overland Park, Kansas and Bradley Weir of Dallas, Texas.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law; James H. Weir and her two loving feline companions; Schotzy and Reilly.
Per Jean’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. There will be a private family service at a later date.
