Roger Muldavin , 84, of Arcadia, Michigan, passed away on November 15,
2018, in Manistee County, Michigan.
Roger spent his last days in the loving company of his family, including his wife,
sister, children, step-children, and several of his grandchildren, nieces, and
nephews; all celebrating his persistence and determination to make life
interesting and humorous to the end. Roger’s remains will be cremated. A
memorial service will be held next year, after the weather warms.
Roger was born in San Francisco, California, to Virginia (Swan) Muldavin and

California, Berkeley, he earned a bachelor’s degree, was involved with the Free
Speech Movement, and earned a master’s degrees in electrical engineering.
While still in California, he worked as a biomedical engineer, inventing the ear
oximeter for detecting blood oxygen ratio with red and green diodes. He also
worked as a teacher, started the Muldavin’s Electronic Search House (MESH)
and other small businesses, and owned the Arcadia Marina Campground,
which he managed and operated for many years. He enjoyed singing and
playing guitar, banjo, and cello. A life-long runner, Roger won in his age group
for many years in the Arcadia Daze annual races. He was passionately involved
in the American Civil Liberties Union and a longstanding participant in the
Michigan Yoga Association and the Cloud Hands Tai Chi group.
Roger is survived by his wife, Jean Ann (Bowling) Muldavin of Arcadia,
Michigan, brother, Clark Muldavin, sister, Albie (Muldavin) Davis, step-son,
