Larry L. Schimke, 70, of Onekama, MI, died on September 22, 2018.
He was born February 28, 1948 in Manistee, MI to the late Henry and Marie (Olson) Schimke.
He grew up in Onekama and graduated from Onekama High School. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam war, Larry married Martha Swanson in Onekama on March 13, 1971.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He was a loving husband and father and a loyal Detroit Lions fan.
Larry is survived by his wife, Martha; daughter-in-law Kamilla (Tolo) Schimke; grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Schimke; great-granddaughters, Ava and Skyler Schimke; brother John Schimke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Schimke; siblings Darwin Schimke and Noreen (Schimke) Peterson
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018, 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee.
