Obituary for James Harold Kelly

James Harold Kelly of Ludington joined his beloved wife Marge, Daughter Mary, and Son Jimmy in Heaven on June 19, 2018. Jim was born in Detroit on January 8, 1933 to William and Mary Kelly and had two older brothers, Richard and Donald. Jim’s love for and commitment to Marge, Mary, and Jimmy along with his faith filled positive attitude was an example for all who knew him.
Jim attended the Holy Cross Lutheran School in Detroit and was an aircraft mechanic in the United States Airforce from 1951 – 1955. While stationed in the state of Washington Jim met and married Marge and their daughter Mary was born before they moved back to the Detroit area where son Jimmy was born. The four Kelly’s of Clawson and their ever present dogs shared a rich life. Jim was a professional quality control auditor for manufacturing companies and the United States Government.
Jim and Marge built a beautiful summer home near Cape Chin on Georgian Bay in Ontario Canada where the four Kelly’s made life-long friends and enjoyed the best life has to offer. Over twenty years ago Jim and Marge gave up their beloved family home in Clawson and their summer home in Canada to build a beautiful year-round home on Hamlin Lake. During these years Jim and Marge also traveled extensively throughout the United States.
We will be celebrating Jim’s life from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, June 22, 2018 with a time of remembering at 7:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home, 3060 West US Hwy 10, Ludington, Michigan 49431. Burial will take place next week at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Instead of flowers please consider a gift to the Harbor Hospice Foundation, 1050 W Western Avenue, Suite 400, Muskegon, MI 49441.
Jim’s positive can-do attitude and his love of life will be missed but we all know he is at peace and with Marge, Mary, and Jimmy sailing on the waves of God’s heavenly lakes.
