Condolence: Mr. SCHIERHOLT;

I APPRECIATE THAT WHEN YOU WERE IN YOUR LAST TWO YEARS OF TEACHING YOU GAVE IT YOUR ALL. JAKE ; CLASS OF 93. You stood on top of the desk and acted out all 3 witches.

Song of the Witches: “Double, double toil and trouble”
BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
(from Macbeth)
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a h-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good

Condolence: One of the best teachers I ever had. His encouragement set me on a path to writing for living as a journalist. I will be forever thankful.

Condolence: Mr. Schierholt,

To a great man who was one of my favorite teachers (class 1977), taught me how to tie a tie for my first high school golf match, and one of my many "dads" at Lincoln Hills CC! My professional career was fostered by your support, but it was your caring that made me a better person. You will be forever missed by all of us students but never forgotten. Our prayers in Northern California go to your family, many who I miss but remember often!

Condolence: Mr. Schierholt helped me realize I was a good writer and helped me improve. He encouraged and inspired me. He made me laugh. He made me think. He made me try harder than I would have without him. He made a significant impact on my life. I will always remember him.

Condolence: My condolences to the family of Don Schierholt, for I will miss him greatly. I last saw Don and spoke with him at a Ludington Class Reunion for the classes of 1968-72, some years ago. Although, I’ve tried to stay connected with him on Facebook.

Mr. Schierholt, I never called him Don, because I had so much respect for him. I had Mr. Schierholt for speech class, my senior year in 1968 at Ludington High School. Public speaking can be very frightening, but Mr. Schierholt had unique ways of getting the best out of his pupils and keep everything light-hearted.

I too, became a teacher/administrator for 31 years at the Newaygo County Career-Tech Center in Fremont, MI. Without the expertise of Mr. Schierholt and many other teachers at that time, I doubt my career choice would have become a reality. Mr. Schierholt wrote a letter of recommendation for me to get into Ferris, since my grades in high school were just average. I’m forever in debt to Mr. Schierholt, since he saw something in me, likely others didn’t.

Growing up in Ludington, my Dad used to have a saying when he wanted it to be known that he had the utmost respect for someone. So, speaking for my Dad; Mr. Schierholt, “now there goes a prince of a man.”

Condolence: So sorry for your loss! Your dad was a great teacher! I have many fond memories of being in his class. He went out of his way to encourage me to become an English teacher and I'm glad I took his advice! I've been teaching for 28 years (mostly high school English). We're praying for you and your family for comfort, peace and strength as you grieve but also celebrate his life. God bless you!
