Obituary for John Fredrick Petters

John Fredrick  Petters
John Fredrick Petters, 91, of Ludington, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018.
John was born in Wauzeka, WI on January 9, 1927, as the only child to Frank J. and Mary W. Petters. John graduated from Wauzeka High School in 1944. He served in the United States Cavalry with the 91st Cavalry Recon Squadron our of Fort Riley, KS near the end of World War II. Upon leaving the Service, he went to Valparaiso Technical Institute where he received a degree in Radio Engineering. He then came to Ludington, where he was employed as a radio engineer fat WKLA Radio until he left to work for The Dow Chemical Company in their instrument department. After six years, he left to form his own business, United Communication Services which he ran for six years. He then sold the business and became employed with Jackson Vibrators in their electrical and Instrument department and became supervisor of that department, then moved to the engineering department as an engineering designer. Finally, he moved to the computer services department, from which he retired as a systems analyst.
John met and married Helen F. Bourgette from Ludington on September 30, 1949. They had three children; Diane, Bonni, and Jay.
John leaves behind his daughters, Diane (Michael) Razminas and Bonni Snyder; son, Jay Petters; brother-in-law, David Bourgette; grandchildren, Samantha and Melissa Razminas, Jason and Jacky Petters, and Brandon Petters; step grandchildren, Jennifer and Lori Snyder, Kyle and Kristin Taylor; nieces; and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years, Helen Petters; son-in-law, Robert Snyder; and other family members.
There are no public services planned at this time. John will be inurned at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
