Kunkel
Obituary for Peter Clare Kunkel
He was born on April 6, 1942 in Cadillac, MI the son of the late Stanley & Helen Kunkel and step-mother Betty Kunkel. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Winnifred Hartzell on November 5, 1977 at the Buckley Wayside Chapel.
Peter was employed in shop assembly by National Vacuum in Traverse City, retiring in April of 2017. He was an avid Michigan football fan.
Survivors include his wife; Winnifred Kunkel of Mesick, his brother; Jack Kunkel of Marquette, sisters; Aneita Grams of Manton, Laura of Cadillac, Mary (Brad) Dean of Detroit, and Charlene (Lyle) Reddy of Arizona, two sons; Robin (Gail) Kunkel of Manton and Brian (Jamie) Kunkel of Lake City, 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
No services are planned at his time. Memorials in Peter’s name may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
