Russell B. Schmuhl, age 48, of Ludington, passed away on May 27, 2018.
Russ was born on July 23, 1969 in Ludington, the son of Firn (Schmuhl) Jensen. Russ graduated from Ludington High School in 1988 and later worked as a custodian for Ludington Schools for more than 20 years. More recently, Russ worked at Bierkamp Market, downtown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushrooming. Russ was an all around good guy who was willing to help anyone in need. He loved to cook and hang out with his friends.
Russ is survived by his mother, Firn (Schmuhl) Jensen; brother, Jeffrey (Annette) Schmuhl; sister, Holli (Scott) Leeuw; nieces, Hannah and Kendra Schmuhl, and Kaylee Knudsen; special nephew, Brandon Leeuw; and good friends, Mike Mesyar and family, and many other friends.
Russell was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Schmuhl, his uncle, Emory Ames, his wife, Lisa Wilson, and his step-daughter Alyssa Wilson.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 1-3 pm at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family: Holli Leeuw.
