Obituary for Chan William Martz

Chan William  Martz
Chan Martz, age 60, of Scottville, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was born January 29, 1958 in Ludington to Donald and Milda (Phillips) Martz.
Chan graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1977, where he excelled at cross country. Chan went on to work for Urka’s Auto for a couple years. He also worked on the family farm and organized and worked many Sand Drag Races near Silver Lake. Chan loved driving his truck, fixing old cars, especially his ’69 Camaro. He completely assembled his own dune buggy and rebuilt the entire engine in his Camaro. Chan also enjoyed watching NASCAR and movies. Chan was a loving care taker for his mother until her death last year.
Chan is survived by his brother, Joe Martz of Scottville, his nephews, Joseph, Tyler, and Jordan Martz, his great nieces, Leyna and Lyla Martz.
Chan was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions in Chan’s name may be directed to the charity of donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
