Muriel Jean Frey 97 of Ludington took the hands of the angels and left the home of her son and daughter in law on March 9th 2018
She was born January 15, 1921 in Fargo ND, Daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Mulligan) Mottle.
Muriel graduated from Liderwood High School in 1938, a few years later moved to Ludington where she would spend the next 77 years of her life.
She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great grandmother, Muriel had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that was very contagious, she became a friend and grandma to everyone she met.
Muriel retired in 1986 from the Beach Comber Motel where she worked as a housekeeper with her best friend Joyce Dwyer, they played more than they worked.
Some of her hobbies included Word find puzzles, watching game shows, figure skating and NASCAR,
She enjoyed spending time with family and would go anywhere food was being served.
But her most favorite activity was going to Brenda's Cafe every morning through rain, sleet or snow for breakfast and coffee where she had a favorite booth and was not too happy if someone beat her to it, Brenda, staff and regulars were like her second family and they felt the same. We as a family appreciate them for watching out for her. Brenda you are forever in debt.
Muriel didn't have much in the way of possessions but according to her she had everything she wanted.
Muriel is survived by her children, Kenny (Margaret) Frey, Bonnie Case, Terry (Carol) Frey, and Gary (Sandy) Frey, her grandchildren, Stacie (Chris) Isbell, Roy (Mistea) Case, Greg Frey, Michelle Frey, Samantha O’Rourke, Kenneth (Mary Beth), Elaine Durham, Rhonda Elliot, Marlene Elliot, Marcie Frey, Terry Frey Jr., Alan (Michelle) Frey, 13 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Rudnick, great grandchildren, Jacob Zacharda, and Marianna Frey, her siblings, Lois McDonald, Delpha Dezellar, Melva Mottle, Dale Mottle, Lonnie Mottle, Jack Mottle, and Lowell Mottle, her sons-in-law, Tim Rudnick and Roy Case Sr.
A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
Memorial contributions in Muriel may be directed to the Salvation Army.
