Obituary for Lawrence Earl Comstock Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” “Road Dog” Earl Comstock Jr., age 82, of Ludington passed away Monday, January 15, 2018. He was born April 19, 1935 in Ludington to Lawrence and Maude (Beeman) Comstock Sr.
Larry retired from C & O Railroad after 31 years of service. He married the late Dorothy Thorne in 1955 and together they had five children. He married Georgianna Jolly on July 26, 2008 and spent the rest of his life with her.
Larry or, “Road Dog” as he was known by all his biking buddies, loved anything that went fast. He had a great passion for his Boss Hoss bikes and anything motorcycle. He also loved to feel the wind on his snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and cars. He won numerous trophies from several different speed sports. Larry was a unique man, a little loud and wild in his younger years and calm and sweet later in life. He had many friends who looked up to him and thought of him as a bit of a legend.
Larry will be greatly missed by his wife, Georgianna; children: Sandy Comstock Cornwall of Ludington, Lawrence John Comstock if Ludington, Barbara Peterson of Ludington, Alexis (Russell “Butch”) Taylor of Ludington, and Jonette (Hector) Wilson of Norton Shores; stepchildren: Layne Suzette Dancz, Lisa Jolly, and Lesley (Jason) Winter; 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; siblings: Shirley Cunningham, Ruth Skuse, Phyllis (John) Laufersky, Eleanor (Eryne) Clark,Leota Skuse, Thomas Comstock, Lester (Linda) Comstock, Helen Lopez, Jerry (Cathy) Comstock, Marilyn (Brad) Zylman, Milton (Roxanne) Mansfield, Jan (Larry) Velvick; sister-in-law: Nikki Comstock and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, brother, Mervin Comstock; sister: Marjorie Vodvarka, and stepson: David Kubat.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 1 pm at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with visitation one hour prior. A grave side ceremony will be held on June 17th with a bike ride following.
Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be directed to the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
