Obituary for Marilyn Marrison

Marilyn Jean Marrison, age 93, of Ludington passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018. She was born November 15, 1924 in Manistee to Orval and Alberta (Englund) Close. Marilyn graduated from Ludington High School in 1944 and from Melba Beauty School in 1945.
Marilyn married the late William Howard Marrison on August 11, 1945 in Ludington at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Marilyn was very active at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington. She was also a member of the Carefree Sam’s Camping Club. Marilyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, reading, bird watching, square dancing, playing bingo and pinochle.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by her children: William C. (Elaine) Marrison, James L. (Wanda) Marrison, Cathy J. Marrison, and Mary Beth (David) Avedesian; grandchildren: Kristi (Jason) Stiehl, Greg (Amy) Marrison, James (Kim) Marrison, Kelly (Rob) Purtee; great grandchildren: Hailey and Sheridan Stiehl, Tiler and Mason Marrison, Allison Purtee, and Ellery and Hadley Marrison.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, William and her brother Robert Close.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lakeview Cemetery immediately following the service
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s name may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
