Obituary for Arthur "Corky" Jensen

Arthur “Corky” Jensen, 81, of Ludington, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home.

Corky was born on August 12, 1936 in Ludington, the son of Arthur and Esther (Creamer) Jensen. He attended Ludington High School before joining the United States Army. From 1954-1958, Corky was stationed in England and Germany. While in England, he met and married his wife of 61 years, Barbara Brown. Back on U.S. soil, Corky worked for the car ferries for many years, then worked as an electrical assembler for Harsco until his retirement in 2000.

Corky enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Fin and Feather Club, American Legion, and VFW. He was also a Cub Scout leader for the Pere Marquette Chapter in the late 1960’s. Corky was a good husband and father, and loved teaching people. He was a NRA certified trainer and taught CPL, hunter safety, and ladies pistol classes.

Corky is survived by his wife, Barbara Jensen; children, Carl Jensen, Deanna (Dan) Carroll, and Terry Jensen; grandchildren, Kyle (Sara) Mathews, Allison Carrol, Bryan Carroll, Steffanie Carroll, Alyssa (Bill) Connelly, and Taylor Jensen; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Sharon) Jensen, Thomas Jensen, and Sandy Sample; and sister-in-law, Judy Jensen.

Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Esther Jensen; and siblings, Arlene Eyestone, Charles Jensen, and Ronald Jensen.

A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11 am at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington, with visitation starting at 10:00 am.
