Eugene A. Weed, age 93, of Manistee, Michigan, passed away October 31, 2017 at his home.

Eugene was born February 9, 1924 in Kalamazoo, MI to the late William Asa and Katie Elenora (England) Weed. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Gunners Mate First Class aboard the USS Leyte/USS Maui (ARG-8). He was married to Patricia R. King who preceded him in death on April 30, 2008 & Leah E. Gibert who he married on August 24, 1960 and preceded him in death October 21, 1996.

He was a Lineman for Bell Telephone for 22 years, retiring in 1983. Eugene was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He watched every Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers game for years. He was a hunter and a fisherman.

Survivors include his daughter Connie Jennings, Sons; Larry Weed, David (Kathy) Weed, & Michael (Alice) Weed, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Marjorie M. Weed-Frey, Brother George W. Weed, and son Lonnie Weed.

A Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 7 at 5:00PM at The Bungalow Restaurant in Manistee.
