Condolences

Condolence From: Sandy Lyon
Condolence: Judy and I have been friends for a long time through the local low-vision support group. She has been an advocate for those with vision issues and always encouraged them to be an advocate for themselves when it came to interactions with their eye doctor. She spoke her mind, unashamedly. She loved to visit the beach often, she loved her new car, and she loved to go to the Dairy Queen. She spent hours making quilts for local soldiers and received much satisfaction and joy from presenting the quilts to the soldiers. We always sang "Happy Birthday" to her at our July picnic at the Ludington Marina and it was fun surprising her with gifts on her special day. I drove her to her appts. with the eye specialist in Grand Rapids and we celebrated on the way home with a stop at Wendy's for her favorite eats. These appts could be very painful and stressful for her but worth it to save her site. We talked about her relationships with her family members and the difficulties some families have with those relationships. I felt empathy for her and for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed a lot.
