Obituary for Margaret Beryl Roat

Margaret B. Roat, age 93, of Ludington passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 at Ludington Woods Assisted Living. She was born August 12, 1924 in Pontiac to Dudley and Carrie (Bradford) Colby.
Margaret graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1942. She married the late Harold J. Roat on June 18, 1944 in Pontiac. Margaret and Harold owned and operated Linlook Park Cottages for over 40 years.
Margaret was a member of the Ludington United Methodist Church, and in her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and sewing, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and watching movies. She also enjoyed her computer and keeping in touch with the younger generation through email.
Margaret delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They enhanced her life as she did theirs.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Dianne (Wally) Brown of Ludington and Kay (Mike) Lubert of Manistee; stepson David (Shirley) Roat of Colorado; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; her brother, Stanley (Gloria) Colby, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her son, Ronald Roat; her grandson, Colby Roat, and her siblings: Keith Colby and Dawn Fritz.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
