Obituary for Clyde Gilbert

Clyde L. Gilbert, age 74, of Manistee passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017. He was born June 8, 1943 in Traverse City to Eldred and Norma (Lemley) Gilbert. He graduated from Traverse City High School. Clyde worked for Morton Salt for over 20 years.
Clyde married Lenna (Lewis) Stringham on April 1, 1995 in Manistee. Clyde was a longtime member of the Beacon Ministry in Scottville. He enjoyed wood working and watching Walker Texas Ranger. He also enjoyed Golfing with his son and going to yard sales with Lenna.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 22 years Lenna; Connie Gilbert of Muskegon and Scott (Sonia) Gilbert of Whitehall; step children: Vance (Mary Jo) Stringham of Roscommon and Jason (Gretchen) Stringham of Traverse City; eight grandchildren: Bryan, Nicole (Shawn), Nathan (Julie), Samantha (James), Tabatha, Tjaden, Annah, and Marcella; two great grandchildren and one on the way. Siblings: Elg Gilbert and Robert (Doris) Gilbert; sister-in-law Sandy Gilbert and beloved dogs Grace and Bear.
Besides his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his brother Dave Gilbert.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2p.m. at Beacon Ministries, 4433 N. US 31, Scottville, with visitation one-hour prior. Pastor Tammy Bacon will officiate.
Memorial contributions in Clyde’s name may be direct to The Beacon Ministries.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Manistee.
