Obituary for John Wallace Allen

John Wallace  Allen
John Wallace Allen, Age 83 of Manistee died Thursday morning June 1, 2017 at his home.
He was born on October 28, 1933 in Canal Fulton, Ohio the son of the late Lawrence & Venus (Johnson) Allen. He was veteran, serving in the United States Army. He married Caroline Ann Engelman on October 16th 1954 at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manistee.
John was employed as a mason/carpenter by Structural Specialties in Manistee for 25 years. He also had been employed by Michigan Lumber Company and Linke Lumber Company.
He was a former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Manistee. He enjoyed fishing, camping, feeding the birds & squirrels, and especially enjoyed time with the grand kids.
Survivors include his wife Caroline A. Allen of Manistee, his son Michael (Jennifer Kunkle) Allen of Ludington, his daughter; Kimberly (Josh) Momyer of Manistee, three grandchildren; Ashely, Aja, and Lyrik, and one brother; Ed (Betty) Allen of Manistee.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Thelma Guenthardt and Virginia Staff, and one brother; Larry Allen.
No Services are planned at this time. Memorials in John’s name may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
