Janet Kay Zacharda, Age 78 of Ludington died Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home.

She was born on November 1, 1936 in Ludington, Michigan the daughter of the late Harold & Beatrice (Hannah) Pedersen. She was a 1955 graduate of Ludington High School. Janet married Gorden Zacharda on June 2, 1957 at Saint Paul’s Church in Riverton.

She was employed as a secretary by Boeing for nine years, retiring in 1999. Janet enjoyed all outdoor activities; camping, hunting, & fishing, avid target bow shooting, and had a love of all animals, especially horses.

Survivors include her husband; Gorden, her children; Phil (Georgia) Zacharda of Ludington, Wendy (Terry) Johnson of Fountain, & Bret (Angela) Zacharda of Ludington, sisters; Helen Lardie of Leesburg, FL and Pat (Leigh) Johnson of LaGrange, WY, sister-in-law: Carol Lazzari of Apache Junction, AZ, grandchildren; Buffie (Russell) Dana of Crystal, MI, Meribeth (John) Frost of Ludington, Michael Zacharda of Ludington, Tonya Bates of Custer, Bryan Bates of Fountain, Amanda (Michael) Hays of Fountain, Easton Johnson of Howell, MI Jarrett & Coltin Zacharda of Free Soil, Tucker Zacharda of Holton, MI, Curtis (Kay) Lamb, Caleb, & Jamie Lamb all of Ludington, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also was preceded in death by a son; Daniel Allen Zacharda, a grandson; Jacob Dale Zacharda, brother-in-law; Jack Lardie, and mother & father-in-law; John & Phyllis Zacharda.

Cremation has taken place. Final interment will be in Riverton Cemetery in the Spring.
