Obituary for Lois Marie Culbert

Lois Marie Culbert, 92, of Manistee passed away on September 21, 2018.

She was born August 1, 1926 in Detroit to the late George and Marie Roberts. On December 14, 1946 Lois married Thomas Edward Culbert. They were happily married for 72 years.

Lois was actively involved in the Michigan communities of Oxford, Novi, Manistee, and Jensen Beach, Florida.

In Manistee, she was an active member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and served on Altar Guild for over 50 years. She was a PEO member and former president, a member of Hospital Auxiliary, Lecturer for Weight Watchers, volunteer at Ramsdell Theatre, member of the Manistee Golf and Country Club.

She loved to travel especially to Ireland where she enjoyed visiting Tom’s cousins. Her annual highlights were trips to Mackinac Island and spending her winters at their condo on the ocean in Jensen Beach, Florida. She also loved golfing and playing bridge.

Above all else, Lois’ real passion was her devotion to her husband, Tom and family.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; children, Jane (Sam) Coram, Janice (Jim) Courtright, George (Sheila) Culbert, Nancy (Bill) Lohff, grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Katie, Sarah, Jason, Kristen, Lindsey, Jenny, Bob, and 14 great grandchildren.

Lois cherished her friendships with people both in Michigan and Florida.
She will always be remembered as a beautiful lady who took pride in her appearance and loved life to the fullest.

There will be a visitation at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center on September 30, 2018 at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life. A Church service will be held on October 1, 2018 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
