June Alice (Carlson) Iverson passed away at her Bear Lake home on Friday, August 17, 2018 with her husband of 69 years, Robert at her side.
She was born on May 1, 1926 in Manistee, Michigan the daughter of the late Ernst Alfred & Myrtle Ruth (Anderson) Carlson. June graduated from Manistee High School. She married Robert Charles Iverson on April 23, 1949 in Scottville, Michigan.
She was employed at Sawyer Fruit Plant as a payroll record clerk and for many years was a librarian at all branches of the Manistee County Library System.
June was an active member of the Bear Lake Community and in Gulf Shores Alabama, where they owned a winter home since 1993. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Bear Lake Senior Women’s Club, the Triginta Club, and County Highlands Golf Course. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie Leader. June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia and their ladies groups.
June was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and especially loved time with her great grandchildren playing games.
Survivors include; her husband Robert and five children; Janet (Gary) Levandoski of Midland, MI, Deborah (Ronald) Suess of Manistee, Charles (Penny) Iverson of Bear Lake, Phillip (Frances Sanchez) Iverson of San Antonio, TX, and Mark (Jeannette) Iverson of Mokena, IL. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; Lisa (Jim) Sylvia, Katie (Klay) Northrup, Matthew (Elsie) Levandoski, Eric (Fallon) Iverson, Paige Iverson, Candice (Rob) Swander, Sara (Steve Ryczko) Iverson, Jennifer (Arthur) Fraly, Lorne Peabody, Wendy (Brian) Priddle, Patty Peabody and Ryan Peabody, twenty-five great grandchildren; Everit, Fairis, & Fable Iverson, Madison & Samantha Swander, Lilly, Charlie, & AJ Fraly, Stephen & Bradley Priddle, Amber (Joe) Nugent, Rachael, & Nathan Peabody, Kyle Mantych, Kaitlyn Peabody, Zachary, Elliana, & Isabelle Sylvia, Alex, Noah, Tyler, & Klebear Northrup, Ava June, Megan & Caleb Levandoski, nieces and nephews; Jerrold (Marilyn) Johnson, Judy (Robert) Babcock, Barbara (Rick) Farsing, Tana (David) Pavesic, Polly (Craig) Larson, Lori Nevel, Joyce (Mike) Della Pia, Marsha Gillispie, and special nephew and neighbor Steve Hansen, as well as many cousins in Sweden.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Doris Matteson & Eleanor Carlson, brothers; Ernst Carlson & Ernst Alfred Carlson, father-in-law & mother-in-law; Charles and Clara Iverson, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law; Phyllis (Iverson) & Irwin Johnson, Elaine (Iverson) & Jack Hansen, and Wally Matteson.
Funeral Services for June A. Iverson will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Metcalf officiating. Visitation will be held at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee on Sunday from 3-5 P.M.
Memorials in June’s name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia or the Bear Lake Branch of the Manistee County Library.
