Shirley Pauline Ragsdale, Age 69 of Reed City died August 11, 2018 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
She was born on August 4, 1949 in Highland Park, Michigan the daughter of the late Albert & Pauline (Griffen) Ely. She attended West Shore Community College and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. Shirley married Raymond David Ragsdale on December 7, 1968. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2008.
Shirley was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Reed City Hospital for 38 years, retiring in 2000. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and sharing activities with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters; Katherine (Brian) Eldred and Kimberly (Rick) Swanberg, son; David Ragsdale (Christy Green-Shelton), grandchildren; Faith Marie Swanberg, Kirstin Nicole Swanberg, Megan Michelle Swanberg, Melissa Marie Swanberg, Devin Rose Ragsdale, Taylor Ann Ragsdale, Maerissa Danielle Eldred, Terrell Jarod Davis, Brandelynn Pauline Eldred, and Branden Frederick David Eldred, great grandchildren; Logan Dean Jesweak, Payton Elyzabeth Haynes, and Skylee Athena Ruppert, and her sister; Catherine Kish.
She was also preceded in death by a brother; Albert Ely.
A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Rose Lake Pavilion in LeRoy from 1 – 5 P.M. Interment will be in the Chase Cemetery, Chase, Michigan.
