He and Dorothy were world travelers. John was an avid card player. He loved to fish, camp with family, and target shoot with bow and arrows. He was a licensed pilot. For many years, he and Dorothy were active members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. They spent over twenty enjoyable winters at Swan Lake Resort and RV Park in North Fort Myers, Florida where he was competitive in shuffleboard, billiards, euchre, and pinochle. He considered his Swan Lake friends as his extended family.
